Digg Users Declare War!!
09 f9 11 02 9d 74 e3 5b d8 41 56 c5 63 56 88 c0 Digg users have declared war!

You really have to get over to Digg and see what happens when the nerds & geeks set aside their differences and go crazy. The first three pages of Digg are all stories about this number: 09 f9 11 02 9d 74 e3 5b d8 41 56 c5 63 56 88 c0

I have no idea what the hell this number is or does, but the Digg Army has their panties in a bundle over it.

There are places where the DMCA doesn't reach :) Enjoy (http://www.09f911029d74e35bd84156c5635688c0.eu/).

The best part is, Google has to rank this on their search engine with all the technophiles publishing it on their blogs and commenting each other so rampantly. I can just see the algorithm guys who create the search rules at Google trying to wrap their heads around this one:

09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0 is an HD-DVD decryption key that was leaked on April 30, 2007. The source of the leak is unclear. It is of interest to cryptographic researchers, as it can be used to play a protected HD-DVD movie in Linux, bypassing the normal DRM. The key will also allow for programs analagous to DeCSS for DVDs.

In a cease and desist order from the Advanced Access Content System Licensing Administrator addressed to Google Inc, the letter humorously included the code in question. [1]

digg.com sold out

It appears that Digg has been deleting post and user accounts that were "digging" or re-posting the encryption code... and in the end it was because digg.com was sponsored by HD-DVD!!!!
